Enraged girlfriend attacks partner with wood

On Feb. 9, law enforcement was dispatched to Woodview Circle in reference to Latasha White damaging property. According to the homeowner, White came to the residence and knocked hard at the door before pushing her way inside after a roommate opened the door. Upon coming inside, White reportedly began to hit her boyfriend, who was at the residence, with a piece of wood. White and the roommate then got into a verbal altercation until White’s boyfriend was able to get White outside of the residence. However, White reportedly returned to the residence and began to knock on the door again. When told to leave, White threw an unknown object that shattered two windows.

Window repair is approximately $900.

Upon the arrival of law enforcement, they located a piece of rock on the windowpane by the door that shattered the window and discovered another rock laying on the ground in front of the window to the boyfriend’s bedroom. Law enforcement also located a piece of wood with blood on it. The boyfriend stated the incident occurred due to him refusing to give White any money. According to him, White hit him in the back of the head and on his left arm with a piece of wood. At first, the reporting officer did not observe any markings or bruises on the boyfriend but did locate a knot on the back of his head beginning to form. The boyfriend was checked and cleared by EMS on scene.

Charges for criminal damage to property (second degree) and battery were sworn against White.

Man steals beer at Murphy’s USA

On Feb. 9, law enforcement responded to a shoplifting at Murphy’s USA. According to an employee, an unknown male came into the store, grabbed two twelve pack cases of Corona, and then left the store.

The two cases of beer cost $37.21.

Man steals cigarettes at Jet Food Store

On Feb. 9, law enforcement responded to shoplifting at the Jet Food Store.

According to an employee, an unknown man stole an unknown number of cigarettes. Each E-cigarette costs approximately $12 apiece.

Vehicle pursuit ensues after shoplifter

On Feb. 10, Baldwin County Dispatch was notified by the Eatonton Police Department of a recent shoplifting that occurred at the Ingles in their jurisdiction. They advised the offender vehicle was heading towards Baldwin County. Officer Keante Butts was stationary between North Jefferson Street and West Thomas Street when he observed the vehicle. He attempted a traffic stop at the stop sign at East McIntosh and North Elbert Street, but the vehicle refused to stop and accelerated onto North Elbert Street. The pursuit continued onto South Elbert Street but was halted near Georgia Military College due to unsafe conditions. The fleeing vehicle drove into the oncoming traffic lane on South Elbert Street, nearly colliding with multiple vehicles, while driving on the wrong side of the roadway.

The vehicle was last seen traveling south on South Elbert Street before law enforcement received a hit from the flock camera located at the intersection of Jackson Drive and Gordon Highway. Later that day, Deputy Garcia located the vehicle at 179 Mount Pleasant Church Road and a foot pursuit ensued where Dwayne Anderson was apprehended. Inside the suspect vehicle, law enforcement located an open container in the front cup holder and Butts reported the odor of alcohol coming off Anderson. Warrants of felony fleeing, willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, giving false name to law enforcement and theft by receiving stolen property were secured for Dwayne Anderson.

Additionally, he was issued multiple citations including speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving while license revoked, reckless driving, driving while under the influence of alcohol and open container.

Man lives at residence without permission

On Feb. 12, law enforcement was dispatched to Harris Street in reference to a burglary. The resident of the home advised police that Terrance Havior has been using the home as a place to sleep despite having moved out sometime in December of 2022. According to the resident, they contacted the landlord and closed off the side of the house where Havior was staying. However, in January, they noticed food items going missing (approximately $60 worth) and discovered Havior was still actively staying in the closed off portion of the home. The resident’s Michael Kors watch (valued at $300) was also missing from the location, which they kept in a box in their room.

According to the landlord, Havior was told multiple times to stay away from the location. After police conducted a search of the closed off section of the home, they located a room with a semi-made bed and clothes which appeared to have been recently left there showing signs of use. A warrant for burglary in the first degree was sworn against Terrance Havior.
