Terminated employee continues using business card

On Nov. 7, law enforcement was dispatched to Nathan Baugh Heating & Cooling. The complainant stated that they noticed transactions being made on their account at Chambers Oil Company Inc. at 600 Hammock Road which had been assigned to Bethaney Shae Brown. Brown had been terminated from the business on July 8. According to the report, surveillance footage at the oil company showed Brown using the card as recently as Nov. 5 to fill their personal vehicle. The card was used multiple times during the month of October totaling $325.15. A warrant for financial transaction card fraud has been secured for Brown. All the transactions made by Brown totaled $870.71 between July 11 through Nov. 5.

Forged $100 at Jet Food Store

On Nov. 7, law enforcement was dispatched to Jet Food Store in reference to forgery. According to an employee, two males paid for their merchandise with a fake $100. The report notes that this is not the first time this has happened and that the males paid with another fake $100 on Nov. 5. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no further information.

Group steals $350 from man on Melody Way

On Nov. 8, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to a burglary. The victim appeared to be shaken upon their arrival on scene. According to the report, the victim had gotten off of work and his car broke down. Due to this, he chose to walk home. Upon reaching Melody Way, he noticed three males lingering at the intersection. According to the report, he acknowledged them with a simple greeting and walked by them when he was hit from behind. He began to fight the three individuals and eventually fell to the ground. They reportedly took his wallet and pocketed $350 before throwing it back in his face. The victim fled after this until he reached Century 21 and called law enforcement. The victim refused treatment by EMS at the scene. An officer later patrolled Melody Way but had negative results locating the group of males.

Unknown male steals $40

On Nov. 9, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. An employee left their black handbag in a cart near the household area of the store. The cart and Solomon’s bag were later located in another part of the store. After searching through their bag, the victim advised they were missing $40 in cash. Surveillance footage showed a male subject take the cart and bag. He then appeared at the auto register with the cart where he pays for his items. The cart and bag were found discarded in a nearby aisle. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no further information.

Burglar steals medication

On Nov. 9, law enforcement was dispatched to 2400 Brantley Way apartments in reference to a burglary. The victim reported returning home to find it in disarray with the kitchen window glass broken, draws and cabinets in the open position as well as their clothing on the floor. A $20-dollar bill, a prescription bottle containing Metformin blood pressure medication and a prescription bottle containing carvedilol blood pressure medication was reported stolen. Garbage truck strikes Windstream lines resulting in more damages

On Nov. 10, law enforcement was dispatched to the intersection of Dunlap Road in reference to damage to property.

Reportedly, a garbage truck overflowing with trash struck a Windstream line causing it to break away from several utility poles. The broken line struck the front left corner of a vehicle causing approximately $1,000 in damages. The line also struck two mailboxes causing $120 of damages in total. According to a Windstream representative, the lines were all fiber optic and the damages for the line was valued at approximately $15,000. In addition to the lines, a “sharp curve” yellow road sign located on the north side of the roadway was damaged along with its pole. Window broken by rocks at Velvet Elvis

On Nov. 11, law enforcement was dispatched to the Velvet Elvis in reference to a damaged window. According to an employee, a male and his friend were asked to leave the establishment on Nov.

10. Surveillance footage showed what the employee alleged to be the same man throwing two rocks at the establishment on Nov. 11. Positive identification was not obtained due to the distance from where the suspect threw the rocks. However, the footage did capture one of the rocks striking a puddle in front of the establishment and the secondary rock breaking the window. Due to not being able to positively identify the male subject, no charges were filed.

Woman steals $1,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart

On Nov. 11, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to theft. According to Loss Prevention Personnel, Sierra Harris was in custody for a series of thefts. Paperwork presented to the officers dated back to Oct. 14, when Harris had taken multiple items from the store. The total amount of miscellaneous merchandise stolen was valued at $1,084.83. Harris was arrested for felony theft by taking over $500.

Torch stolen from Walmart

On Nov. 11, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Reportedly, David Hobbs took a black box which contained a butane torch lighter from the sporting/hunting section valued at $17.97. He concealed it, walked out the store, and drove away. After reviewing camera footage, Hobbs was placed into custody and cited for theft by shoplifting.

Couple trespassed from Walmart

On Nov. 12, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a fight. Reportedly, Shannon Boyer and her husband were walking in the electronics section of the store when an unknown pair called out to her. Boyer stated she was unsure who they were and wanted to know how they knew her name. She engaged in a verbal altercation with the two individuals. Upon law enforcement arriving on scene, Boyer was acting irate.

According to the other pair, they knew Boyer’s husband and were attempting to say hi to him when she started acting irate and yelling at them. According to the assets protection manager, Boyer continued to follow the pair around the store yelling at them. Boyer was cited for disorderly conduct. Boyer and her husband were given the Notice of Prohibited Entry Form and criminally trespassed from the location.

Damages to door at Sherry Circle Apartments

On Nov. 14, law enforcement was dispatched to Sherry Circle Apartments in reference to damage to property. An apartment owner noticed damage to her door on Nov. 10 but was not sure if the damage was done by the maintenance crew working on the apartment across the hall. There was damage to the door and door frame from what appeared to be a crowbar. The value of the damaged property is approximately $500.

Playstation stolen from Bellamy

On Nov. 14, law enforcement was dispatched to Bellamy in reference to a burglary. A PlayStation 4 gaming system ($340),a PlayStation DualShock 4 controller ($60), online games ($100), and all cables associated with the system were reported stolen from an apartment.

The system was last seen on Nov. 10. The owner and their two other roommates left town during this time frame. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no further information.
