Georgia College women’s soccer to host local kids camp

The Georgia College Women’s Soccer Team is set to host a camp for local kids ages 5-13. The camp will be held from June 13 through the 17.

The camp will be held at Bobcat Field, the soccer field on West Campus, as well as the Centennial Center on Main Campus. Boys and girls can both sign up for the camp to work on soccer fundamentals as well as learn the rules of the game. There will also be fun games to play including a team versus team game. The camp is $205 per child.

The campers are expected to bring their soccer equipment and a bag to carry it in, tennis shoes, swimsuit and towel, a water bottle, and lunch. Drop off for the camp starts at 8:30 a.m. with activities starting at 9 a.m. The campers will then load the GC bus at 11:30 a.m. and head over to the Centennial Center to eat lunch and practice inside. At the end of the camp, the campers will get to swim outside of Centennial and will be picked up at 4 p.m.

Current head coach Tinna Gallagher will be running the camp. There will also be current Bobcat soccer players in attendance to assist including upcoming sophomore Aralyn Everett. She appeared in 17 games scoring two goals and recording two assists.

The Bobcats ended their season with a loss in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with the best record in three years. This will be the first camp hosted by coach Gallagher in her stent at GC.

GC’s season will kick off on the road for a handful of scrimmages with the first home contest coming on September 3 against The University of Auburn at Montgomery.
