Burglar steals drinks and food from resident’s home
On April 14th, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to a burglary. The victim stated when he arrived home, he went to unlock his front door and noticed it was slightly ajar. He noticed some of his chips, cream pies, and vodka were missing from his shelf inside of his living room. In the refrigerator, beers and steaks were missing as well. When asked if anything else was missing, the victim said they had been in too much shock to tell. Upon arrival, police noticed that the victim’ s door was forced open by an object. Officers will continue to canvas the area due to the high foot traffic in the area. There is nothing further at this time.
Woman steals $300 worth of tips at Lake Country Lanes
On April 15, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to a theft at Lake Country Lanes. The complaint explained to police that while her employees were serving drinks for the last call, she noticed the tip jar at the bar was missing approximately $300 to $400 worth of tips. The caller stated that camera footage revealed a heavy-set female moving her purse closer to the jar at about 11:00 pm. The female then pulled the jar to her, grabbed the money from inside of the jar and put the money in her purse. The female then set the jar onto the floor and sat there until two other females joined her. After that, all three females left the scene. Law enforcement interviews another employee who said he noticed the heavy-set female and was able to identify the first name of one of the females by her side. The employee found the tip jar by her seat on the floor once the group of unidentified females left. There is nothing further at this time.
Car crashes after attempt to elude police officer
On April 17, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with the headlight out. After activating emergency lights and sirens, the vehicle still did not stop, and pursuit ensued. The vehicle eventually crashed and the driver of the vehicle, identified as Brandon Laquez Green, was placed under arrest for driving without headlights when required, driving while his license was suspended or revoked and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. The passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot in the middle of the pursuit.
Shots fired at Waffle House
On April 17, law enforcement was dispatched to Waffle House in reference to shots fired. An employee at Waffle House stated she was at her register and walking around the store when she heard approximately four gunshots go off. The window inside the location got struck. The cook told Law Enforcement he heard a bang and noticed the window was damaged with what appeared to be a gunshot through the window. Law enforcement made contact with someone who stated he was inside his girlfriend’s car when he heard gunshots go off in the area. When the boyfriend realized the location had been shot at, he left. Later, he returned to Waffle House to check on his girlfriend. It was then he realized that the car had been hit in the left taillight. Law enforcement reviewed camera footage, but it did not show the vehicle that was shooting at the location Waffle House had three impact marks on the outside of the location, two on the far left of the building’s bricks and one on the far left of the building’s bricks. One window was damaged from a gunshot which is suspected to have ricocheted off the glass and stroke the freezer behind the camera. No projectiles were located inside the location or on the outside of the location. There is nothing further at this time.
Shots fired at resident’s home
On April 18, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to shots fired at a house on Downs Street. Upon arrival, law enforcement met with the caller who stated that someone fired several shots into her residence while it was occupied. Initially she stated that she did not know who would have fired the shots, and no one inside the residence was hurt. Another victim stated she was in the bathroom at the time when she heard the shots and at least two of the rounds entered the bathroom wall and window nearly striking her. This female explained that the shots fired could be an aftermath of an altercation that happened the day before. Another resident in the home reported seeing nothing happen but was able to give a vehicle description. Law enforcement was able to locate four entrance holes in the side of the residence near one of the bathrooms. One round appeared to have entered through the window while the three others entered through the sidewalls on both sides of the window. Inside of the residence, law enforcement noticed the rounds appeared to have passed through multiple walls within the home. When speaking with a neighbor afterward, she stated that she heard approximately four to five shots fired before hearing a vehicle speed away. She offered the same description of the vehicle as the resident did. There is nothing further at this time.
