Farmers Home Furniture in Milledgeville is open for business to provide a personal experience for local home furnishing needs. John Turner, the manager of the Milledgeville store, said he grew up in Dublin, and moved to Athens where he lived for 14 years.

City, county give joint address on state of governments

Fittingly for Black History Month, when Baldwin County Commission Chair Emily Davis and Milledgeville Mayor Mary Parham Copeland gave a joint report Feb. 13, it marked the first time locally that two Black politicians, and two women, gave such an address.

Vehicle thief apprehended at Super Inn & Suites

Law enforcement was patrolling the parking lot of Super Inn & Suites Feb. 14 when an officer observed a red 2017 Volkswagen Passat that was reported stolen earlier that day. When the officer approached the vehicle, it was unoccupied at the time.

BHS Reading Bowl team advances to state

The Baldwin High School Reading Bowl Team took first place in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl region championship and is set to advance to state on March 9. The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl was started by Helen Ruffin, a library media specialist at Sky Haven Elementary School in DeKalb County, in 1986.
