The SPLOST referendum is Tuesday, March 21. However, early voting continues through this Friday at the County Administration Building on North Columbia Street from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Polls will be open Tuesday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters must cast their ballot at their assigned precincts. There will be no voting at the administration building. Photo ID is required.
There is only one item on the ballot: whether the one-cent special purpose sales tax now in effect in Baldwin County will continue for another six years, effective April 1, 2024. While the actual question on the ballot is quite lengthy as is required by state law, the only response a voter must give is a yes or no answer.
As of this past Tuesday afternoon, only just over 400 persons, about 1.5 percent of registered voters, had cast ballots.
