Morgan Pendergast, a longtime resident and active community member, has announced her intent to qualify and run for the District 4 seat on the Milledgeville City Council.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to represent my neighbors on the Milledgeville City Council. I want to give back and continue to invest in the city that’s offered so much to me and my family,” Pendergast said. “I will protect the things that make Milledgeville special while supporting projects that will cultivate a community that better serves its citizens.”
Pendergast was born in Milledgeville, attended Baldwin County public schools, and earned her accounting degree from Georgia College & State University.
“After a few years away, an opportunity to work alongside my family brought me back home,” Pendergast said. “So now, I get to apply my degree in a more hands-on way, and I’m falling back in love with my hometown.”
She was raised in Milledgeville’s historic downtown and has spent her life working for numerous downtown establishments. Pendergast is both a homeowner and a business owner in District 4 and believes she is “uniquely qualified to bring new perspectives to city hall.”
“The people we trust to serve us in local government should care deeply about the work they do and keep our neighbors’ well-being their top priority, which is exactly what I will do as District 4’s representative,” Pendergast said. “I am committed to being accessible, transparent, and engaged.”
The election for the seat will be held Nov. 4. If elected, Pendergast plans to be a strong advocate for District 4 residents and to work collaboratively with fellow council members, local organizations, and citizens to improve the quality of life across the city.
