GMC Prep names Amy Lee as new principal

Georgia Military College Preparatory School is proud to announce that Lieutenant Colonel Amy Lee has been named the new principal of the GMC Prep School, effective immediately.

“I am honored to have been chosen to lead Georgia Military College Prep School as its new principal,” said Lee. “I am committed to building on the school’s legacy of providing our students with the highest quality education and preparing them to become leaders in their communities and beyond.”

As the new principal, LTC Lee will oversee the day-to-day operations of the school and lead efforts to ensure that Georgia Military College Prep School remains a premier educational institution in the state. She will work to maintain the school’s strong commitment to academic excellence, character development and leadership training.

“I am excited to continue working with our exceptional faculty and staff to provide our students with the tools they need to succeed,” said Lee.

For the last 18 years, LTC Lee has been an integral member of the GMC Prep School family. She completed her practicums and her teaching internship at GMC Prep School and went on to earn her master of arts in teaching from Georgia College & State University in 2005. That same year, she returned to GMC Prep School to teach high school English, where she was a consistent favorite teacher of many students and was named STAR teacher, Teacher of the Year, and Character Educator of the Year throughout her teaching career. She was promoted to assistant principal and curriculum director in 2019, promoted to associate principal in 2021, and named interim principal of GMC Prep School in early 2023.
