Earlier this month, the Lake Oconee Elks Lodge donated four laptops, printers and all other essentials to the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. The laptops will be used in the new building to house veterans with severe brain trauma or suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Vets will use them as rehabilitation tools to help them gain a more independent life. The new building is expected to open about mid-September and will house 14 veterans receiving rehabilitative services. The Lake Oconee Elks Lodge used the Spark Grant from Elks National Foundation to fund the program.
