Unknown males damage parking signs
On Nov. 23, law enforcement was dispatched to Grants Jewelry store, at 116 South Wayne St., in reference to criminal trespass. The owner stated that when he arrived at work, he noticed two of his parking signs had been damaged.
Video footage showed two males kick down one of the Grants parking signs and damage the sign next to it. The camera showed them walking towards the Tunnel. Then, they were seen getting into a black GMC, Sierra, with a push bumper, and a gray cooler in the back traveling toward East Greene Street.
Jones estimated it would cost a total of $300 to replace the signs. Officers patrolled all apartment complexes looking for the vehicle and had negative contact.
Shot found at apartment complex
On Nov. 24, law enforcement was dispatched to an apartment at 2441 Brantley Way in reference to damage to property. The resident stated she heard a loud noise Nov. 23 come from inside her residence. When she went into the living room on the morning of Nov. 24, she noticed a bullet hole in her front door. In the kitchen, a chair was broken due to the bullet also hitting it. A single projectile was located near the rear door of the residence. Contact was made with the neighbor next door who stated that she never heard any gunshots. Contact was also made with neighbors who live across the street.
Both males stated they heard approximately 5 shots last night and ran to the rear of the residence.
Man arrested for suspended license
On Nov. 24, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on a gold 2003 Acura MDX due to the registration being suspended. The driver of the vehicle made a complete stop at a local business on Allen Memorial Drive.
Due to the driver not having his driver license, he identified himself as Brandon Hoskin. The officer confirmed Hoskins’ license was suspended for failure to appear, which was verified through Baldwin County Dispatch. As the officer began putting Hoskins into handcuffs, he informed them that he had a firearm in his jacket pocket. The firearm was determined to be stolen through Warner Robins Police Department on Oct. 2, 2023. Hoskins was transported to the Baldwin County Jail without incident.
$4,000 in tools stolen
On Nov. 25, while on uniform patrol, officer Darius Binion was dispatched to 1241 North Clarke St. regarding a reported residential burglary. Rasul Shaw, a contract construction worker, had been granted permission to work on the property by the homeowner.
He last worked at the location on Nov.
18 and upon arriving at the residence on Nov. 25, he observed that all his construction tools were missing, and the back door window of the residence had been broken. An unknown suspect gained entry to the residence by breaking the window and unlocking the door. A red fire extinguisher, found on the porch, was potentially used to break the glass according to Shaw. The total estimated cost of the items stolen is about $4,000.
