Bicycle stolen from residence
On July 30, law enforcement was dispatched to 211 W. Washington St. in reference to a stolen bicycle. The victim stated that she left two bicycles under her carport and when she exited her residence that morning one of the bicycles was missing. She also noticed that her vehicle was entered but nothing seemed to be missing but some items were out of place. She admitted that she has been leaving her vehicle unsecured.
The Ring camera was able to detect motion around 2:46 a.m., which the victim believed was the time the bicycle was stolen. The bicycle is a yellow beach cruiser and has a black flat extendable rack on the back and the word Huffy on the bar written in black.
Upset ex takes frustrations out on car On Aug. 1, law enforcement was dispatched to 220 Fox Hill Road in reference to damage to property.
The complainant stated that Keanna Simmons came to the residence and damaged his 1990 Honda Accord. The front windshield, driver's window, driver's side passenger window and rear windshield had been damaged beyond repair. He stated Simmons was upset with him because he no longer wanted to be with her. The vehicle was parked off to the side of the residence on Friday, July 26 while he was out of town and he returned to find the vehicle damaged.
He stated that Simmons called him and admitted to damaging the vehicle because she was upset about his decision. Warrants for Simmons for criminal damage to property in the second degree under the family violence act were secured.
Shoplifting leads to drug discovery
On Aug. 3, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart, at 2592 N.
Columbia St., in reference to shoplifting. Suzanne Henline failed to scan items that totaled to be $44.20.
Kayleigh Courson was also seen on camera leaving the location with a pink bookbag purse that was not paid for.
Henline stated she was not aware that she did not scan items left in her cart.
She stated that while in the checkout line, Courson gave Henline her green bookbag purse while she walked to the car. Heline stated Courson also put a pack of white socks in her buggy before leaving the location. In the purse, an officer found a six-pack multi-colored underwear pack, a black Reebok t-shirt, a black women's sports bra, and three small cans of refrigerant. The officer then went to Henline’s vehicle and asked Courson to step inside the store with any items she did not buy. The items Courson took totaled to $151.95. While conducting a search of Henline's black fanny pack a white mesh bag with 28 orange pills with the number 404-E was found. When asked what the pills were for Henline stated the pills were for constipation. The officer looked the pills up and they came back as methamphetamine. Courson and Henline were placed under arrest and placed into double-locked handcuffs and transported to the Baldwin County Jail.
Once at the jail, a white powdery substance that appeared to be cocaine was found in Henline’s bra. Warrants for shoplifting were taken out on Courson and warrants for shoplifting, felony possession of controlled schedule 2 drugs, possession of suspected cocaine, and crossing the guard lines with drug-related substances were taken out on Henline.
Juveniles steal vapes from Circle K
On Aug. 3, law enforcement responded to the Circle K, at 160 Highway 49, in reference to a theft. A clerk reported to the assistant manager that three juveniles stole three “rizn” vapes. According to the clerk’s statement and camera footage, the juveniles asked for toilet paper for the bathroom and, when the clerk left to get it, they each stole a vape from behind the counter.
Couple reports items stolen from residence
On Aug. 4, a couple living on Cedarwood Road stated that they returned to their house Aug. 2 to pick-up items to prepare to move and returned on Aug. 4 to discover items missing. The following items were gone: a 22” push mower valued at $599.99, a 19” toolbox valued at $12.99, claw hammer/wrenches/ staple gun (total value $37.97), and a wooden dolly valued at $12.99. All the items missing were under the carport.
The wife reported the door on the shed in the backyard was open, but nothing appeared to be missing.
