Woman steals cups of ice
On July 10, law enforcement was dispatched to the Jet Food Store, at 301 E. Hancock St., in reference to a theft that already occurred. A young woman, later identified as Threadis Harris, took two large cups of ice, and left with them after being told she had to pay for them. The value of the large cups of ice is $0.64 each for a total of $1.28. The shift manager stated this wasn’t the first time Harris stole from the store. When law enforcement made contact with Harris, she stated an employee told her to take the cups of ice. Harris was issued a citation for theft by shoplifting.
Hubcaps stolen off vehicle
On July 11, law enforcement was dispatched to an apartment at 121 Legacy Way in reference to stolen hubcaps. The victim stated she noticed the front driver’s side hubcap missing and thought it may have fallen off.
When she looked around the vehicle, she saw all four of her hubcaps were gone. She stated she ran several errands before going home and stated that all the hubcaps were on the vehicle. When she got home at around 9:45 p.m., the hubcaps were on the vehicle. The hubcaps are valued at approximately $25 each for a total of $100.
Altercation breaks out at Budget Inn
On July 13, law enforcement was dispatched to Budget Inn, at 225 E.
Hancock St., in reference to a physical altercation. David Bulba advised that Victoria Lewis broke his phone.
Bulba stated that when he came back from the store and observed his phone was broken, he confronted Lewis.
The manager was able to get camera footage of the incident. Footage showed Lewis arriving on scene and going into room 103. Lewis leaves shortly after and walks to the front office inquiring about getting a room. They advised they were fully booked. Shortly after Bulba arrived on scene and can be seen going into room 103, before coming back out visibly upset. Bulba appears to be talking to someone inside the room then going to confront Lewis. Bulba is seen in her face, before shoving her multiple times. Lewis never physically did anything to Bulba and walked into the front office. Bulba is still seen yelling at her, kicking the door, then going back to the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene shortly after. Bulba was cited for disorderly conduct, and a warrant will be secured for criminal trespass damage to property for Lewis.
Man leaves scene of car accident
On July 14, law enforcement responded to the intersection of Highway 22 and Kings Road in reference to a reported accident. The driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette stated her vehicle was hit from behind and the other driver left the scene prior to law enforcement responding. A small silver SUV followed her from Highway 22 near Lake Laurel Road and when it left the accident scene, it traveled toward Kings Road. Law enforcement looked at FLOCK images and located a vehicle matching the description both on State Route 22 at Lake Laurel Road and again on Kings Road passing the Pierce Johnson Road FLOCK camera.
A GCIC check revealed that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and had a suspended registration. The registered owner of the vehicle was Antonio Jones, which the driver identified as the male that spoke with after the crash. Law enforcement reached Jones by phone and advised he had three warrants and citations out for his arrest: one count of leaving the scene of an accident (hit and run), one count of insurance requirements, and one count of suspended registration. Jones advised that he didn't think he had hit the car. He advised that he originally moved his vehicle to the Quik Fill gas station on Old River Bridge Road but when the victim didn't follow him, he left the scene.
