Resident fires shots to ward off dogs
On May 16, law enforcement responded to shots fired in the area of North Warren Street and Barrows Ferry Road. A resident flagged down police to inform them that he fired the shots to ward off 4 to 5 pit bulls in the area. He stated that the dogs were terrorizing a neighbor’s animal, so he fired 6 to 8 shots towards the ground from his .40 caliber handgun to scare them off. The resident further advised he contacted animal control numerous times and has never gotten a response regarding the dogs. Police recovered six .40 caliber shell casings from one area, and two more that had been run over a few feet away.
The resident was given a warning for discharging his firearm in the city limits.
Burglar slashes sofas in South Jefferson Apartment
On May 18, law enforcement was dispatched to a South Jefferson Street Apartment in reference to a burglary that had already occurred. The complainant stated they left the previous evening and returned home to a broken back window and the back door wide open. The resident reported missing a PlayStation 4 and stated their large sofa and small brown sofa had been slashed multiple times.
Their 32 inch ONN flat screen television was also damaged in the living room.
There are currently no pending charges due to there being no known offenders.
Entering auto occurs at Station on McIntosh
On May 20, law enforcement was dispatched to the Station on McIntosh, on East McIntosh Street, in reference to an entering automobile. The complainant stated he parked his car in a handicap parking spot, locked it and went to his apartment. When he returned to his vehicle, he reported that his pack of gum was on the ground and that he noticed his coffee cup, usually in the center console, was on the passenger floorboard. The complainant reported missing Chase and Current Visa debit cards, $10 in change from his driver’s side door, a red and black box mod vape valued at $120, a headlamp valued at $15 from his center console, and two bottles of Blue Razz Ice vape juice valued at $60. Homeowner returns to find home shot at
On May 20, law enforcement was dispatched to Rollin Road in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated they left their home on the evening of May 19 and returned May 20 to a gunshot right by their bedroom window. The round was located near the nightstand by the bed. The total damage to property is estimated to be $2,000. The round was believed to be a 40 caliber. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no further information.
Customer throws smoothie at employee
On May 23, law enforcement was dispatched to South Wayne Street in reference to a fight or disorder. The complainant stated Kiarra Phillips threw a smoothie at him which hit him in the back of his head and upper back area. The complainant further advised he had numerous incidents with the female and her friends leading to multiple calls for service. No footage was available for viewing on May 23 but the manager was advised to notify police if he located anything on the cameras related to the incident with his employee. A witness confirmed the complainant’s story. A warrant for simple battery was completed for Kiarra Phillips.
