Residents report missing items at Colonial Village Mobile Park
On Nov. 30, law enforcement was dispatched to Colonial Village Mobile Park in reference to a burglary. One victim returned home to find their door had been smashed in. They reported missing a 12 Gauge Benelli Nova shotgun valued at $1200 and an Xbox One valued at $700, a pair of Hanes underwear, and a Subwoofer, valued at $800. The Xboxwas recovered in the brush line behind the residence and the Subwoofer was also recovered. Another victim also reported missing items from their residence. These items included a Mossberg 800 12 Gauge valued at $500, a Bear Creek Arsenal AR-15 chambered in 5.56mm, valued at $1000, a Marlin, chambered in 22mm, valued at $200, and an ammunition crate, filled with various types of ammunition, valued at $100. Due to having no camera footage in the back of the residences, no charges are being taken out at this time.
Items stolen from carport and shed
On Nov. 30, law enforcement was dispatched to River Ridge Road in reference to a burglary. On Nov. 28, the complainant noticed that a Honda lawnmower from her shed and a Hyper Tough Brand 1800 Psi power washer from her carport closet were missing. The lawnmower cost approximately $350 and the power washer cost approximately $148.
Due to having an unknown offender, charges will not be taken out at this time.
Males attempt to kick in door
On Dec. 2, law enforcement was dispatched to Mount Pleasant Church Road in reference to a burglary. The complainant stated they were in the back yard with his bow, when he heard a loud noise coming from the front of the residence. When they came to the front yard, they observed a slim adult male kicking the front door. When the male saw the complainant, they began to run east towards the wood towards another male wearing a red shirt. According to the property owner, this was not the first time the two males have attempted to break into a residence on the property.
The door has foot marks with minor damage to the inner-door frame and lower part of the door. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no further information.
Man attempts to shoplift at Lowe’s
On Dec. 2, law enforcement was dispatched to Lowe’s in reference to shoplifting. An unknown person who had been reported shoplifted before attempted to conceal a DeWalt bag full of tools in a Lowe’s bag. When the suspect noticed an employee watching them, they abandoned the shopping cart of merchandise and existed the store.
The provided a list of items the subject attempted to take totaled to $674.28.
Woman steals honey buns from Jet Food Store
On Dec. 2, law enforcement was dispatched to the Jet Food Store.
Heather Waddell was reported walking out of the store with $4.12 worth of two iced honey buns. Waddell left on foot from the store towards the barber shop where law enforcement detained her.
She was issued a citation for theft by shoplifting.
Neighbor prevents burglary
On Dec. 5, law enforcement was dispatched to North Tattnall Street in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival, law enforcement did a check of the area due to a neighbor chasing the offender with a gun. According to the report the neighbor’s partner stepped outside to take their trash out when they noticed a dog barking a lot in the apartment next door. That is when the neigbors both noticed the window of the other apartment was up and broken. The neighbor approached the apartment and saw an unknown male laying by the doorway.
He left to retrieve his gun and gave chase to the male. He lost sight of the offender in a wooded area behind the Twin Lakes Therapy building. Nothing was reported missing from the apartment and window repair costs will be $400.
Driver arrested on possession of methamphetamine
On Nov. 27, law enforcement was patrolling the area of Harrisburg Road and Allen memorial Drive when a vehicle passed by with a side headlight not working. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver, identified as Kristina Sifers, was not wearing a seatbelt.
According to the report, the Sifers had an active felony warrant. The officer asked Sifer to step out of the vehicle and observed a glass pipe in the driver’s door when it was opened. Inside the pipe was a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. With probable cause to search the vehicle, the officer located a small baggie of suspected marijuana and a ziploc bag containing multiple pieces of suspected THC Wax. Sifers was issued a citation for a seatbelt violation and a warrant for being in possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule 1 drug, and possession of drug related objects.
Catalytic converter stolen from Heart Land Express truck
On Nov. 27, law enforcement was dispatched to South Jefferson Street in reference to a theft. A truck driver for Heart Land Express had parked on the road and noticed later that there were two floor jacks under his truck. Towards the center of the exhaust, a big part was cut off and missing. The estimated cost of repair is $1,000.
