Shots fired on baseball field
On Nov. 2, law enforcement was dispatched to West Thomas Court in reference to shots fired in the area. In the baseball field, between West Thomas Circle and West Charlton Court, law enforcement located three .223 caliber shell casings and one .380 caliber shell casing on the sidewalk. Reportedly, there were no residents walking in the area during the time of the shots being fired. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there are no suspects.
Burglar steals shed from residence
On Nov. 3, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence in reference to a burglary. The homeowner returned to the residence to check on work being done when he found a back window broken out and multiple items missing.
The items missing included a 8x10 plastic shed valued at $800, a grill valued at $150 and a portable dishwasher valued at $150. According to the person hired to do work on the residence, all the items were still present on Oct. 30 when they were last there. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no further information.
Mother protects family from burglar
On Nov. 3, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to a burglary on Irwinton Road. While a mother and her children were home, her son informed her that he heard a noise coming from the door. An unknown subject attempted to kick in the door, but the mother successfully held the door in place.
Reportedly, the offender left the scene, and the family was safe. However, no one in the residence saw the subject or how they fled. When law enforcement arrived on scene, they located an alcoholic beverage discarded by the door and noted significant damage to the front door. Two out of three hinges were knocked off the door and the screen covering to the window next to the door was removed. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there are no known suspects.
Juvenile trespasses at homecoming game
On Nov. 4, a juvenile showed up to the Baldwin High School homecoming football game after previously being criminally trespassed and permanently expelled from the school. They were approached by law enforcement at the game and proceeded to be escorted out. According to the report, however, they later returned and began to argue about how their expulsion from school had expired. They did leave again after another student brought them a pair of keys. The juvenile was charged with criminal trespass and loitering in a school safety zone.
Multiple fights break out at Soul Masters BBQ
On Nov. 6, law enforcement was dispatched to Soul Masters BBQ in reference to a fight. According to the report approximately 100 to 200 people were spilling into the streets causing traffic to stop in both directions. It appeared more than one fight was occurring at the time.
According to the report, the clearing of the area took nearly an hour to complete and required the attention of nearly every officer on shift along with units from neighboring agencies.
Rude customer strikes employee at Waffle House
On Nov. 6, law enforcement was dispatched to Waffle House, on North Columbia Street, in reference to a fight.
Naeem Reynolds and Lamar Weston got into a verbal altercation with witnesses and Weston reportedly struck someone in the face. Reynolds received a citation for disorderly conduct, and warrants were secured for Weston for disorderly conduct and battery.
$6,292 worth of electronics stolen from a Shelby Lane Apartment
On Nov. 6, law enforcement was dispatched to Shelby Lane Apartments in reference to a burglary. According to the report, it was believed the unknown suspect entered the residence through a side window. The victim reported a 65-inch television, a Sony PlayStation 4 Pro, two Nintendo Wiis, a Nintendo 3DS Galaxy, 40 multiple PlayStation games, four Nintendo DS games, various game controllers, two laptops, a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, and various assortment of game and electronic components all totaling approximately $6,292 were stolen. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there are no known suspects.
