Boyfriend threatens girlfriend over alleged affair
On Sept. 12, law enforcement responded to a call about a subject with a gun. Law enforcement arrived at the location and exited everyone from the residence. During their investigation, one person close to the victim stated that the victim called her asking to be picked up from the residence. According to the person, after asking to be picked up, the phone call continued, and she could hear a male subject in the background stating he had three bullets left and was not going to let the victim leave the woods alive. After hearing this, she stated that she called the police immediately. Two witnesses on the scene reported that they did not see a gun of any kind on the offender and further reported they did not know where the offender went after leaving the residence. The victim reported to police that she and her boyfriend got into a verbal argument after he began to yell at her about an alleged affair. She stated that she was not having an affair and wanted to leave the residence. The incident was turned over to detectives for further investigation.
Ex-roommate breaks into residence
On Sept. 13, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence in reference to a break in. The victim reported her ex-roommate, and a male subject broke into the apartment the night before.
The ex-roommate had been evicted in August and had until Aug. 31 to get her belongings. This date was extended to Sept. 7 when the belongings were still not gone. However, the victim reported that items belonging to them were still in the apartment after that date. She was given permission to bag them and set them outside of the residence to be picked up.
She contacted her former roommate and told her where the belongings were.
Reportedly, the female showed up and started knocking on the door. She then entered the residence with a male subject and they threw the bagged belongings back into the apartment. The victim reported that the door had been locked and she was unsure how they made entry. In addition, she found the power cord to the Internet box gone after their intrusion. Attempted contact with the offenders was unsuccessful. As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, there is no more information.
Man steals $167 worth of merchandise at Hibbett Sports
On Sept. 13, law enforcement was dispatched to Hibbett Sports in reference to a theft. A manager reported that a male subject stole approximately $167 worth of merchandise. The stolen items were a Nike dress worth $75., Tempo shorts worth $32 and a Nike shirt worth $60. He further stated that because the store was being remodeled the cameras were not working inside but that they did get outside footage of the subject’s vehicle excluding the tag. As of The Baldwin

Woman shoplifts $134 worth of merchandise from Walmart
On Sept. 15, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to shoplifting. The complainant observed a female, identified as Ja’Kayla Hill, fail to scan 18 items at an unknown register. The food and baby clothes totaled $134.08. Hill stated she had the money to buy the items but was trying to bargain shop by not paying for them. Hill received a citation for shoplifting under $500 and was given a notice of prohibited entry.
Unknown male kicks dent into vehicle
On Sept. 16, law enforcement was dispatched to a residence in reference to damage to property. The complainant stated she was parked behind Buffingtons and when she exited the restaurant, she observed a crowd of males standing in the area. As she and her boyfriend got into the vehicle to leave, one of the males kicked the rear right quarter panel of the vehicle and left a dent behind. The next morning, she noticed damage to the back hatch of her car but did not know what it was.
When searching her trunk, to observe the damage, she noticed a hole traveling from the trunk through a bow case and damage to a light. She also located a piece of metal which is suspected to be a projectile. The total damage to her vehicle is approximately $1000 to fix.
As of The Baldwin Bulletin’s deadline, it is unknown, who was shot and kicked Stratton’s vehicle.
Woman shoplifts at Walmart
On Sept. 19, law enforcement was dispatched to Walmart in reference to shoplifting. The complainant observed Charlotte Harrison not scanning all of her items in the checkout area. Harrison had trouble locating the receipt for the transaction and what items the complainant saw that were not scanned totaled $86.79. Harrison was given a citation for shoplifting under $500.
Neighbor becomes enraged over fireworks
On Sept. 19, law enforcement was dispatched in reference to shots fired.
The victim reported that he was shooting fireworks into the air on his property.
Two people with him were watching the fireworks show from a distance. One witness reported that she heard something fall down in the woods after the fireworks ceased. The victim reported that his neighbor, Kenneth Griswold, was shooting in the air towards them.
Reportedly, Griswold threatened the victim that if he shot another firework then he would kill him. Griswold stated he shot a single barrel shotgun in the air, and that he did approach the victim with the shotgun in his hands. Griswold was arrested and transported to Baldwin County Jail.
