On Dec. 16, law enforcement was dispatched to a theft in progress at Walmart. Walmart’s Asset Protection manager stated the male that the man fled in a red Camaro parked by the back door of the automotive section. He took the boxes for a With It Deca Smart Watch and an ONN 3-in-1 Wireless Charger to an isle with no cameras and took the merchandise out of the boxes.

The manager found the empty boxes in that aisle after the male left. The total value of the items stolen is $99.35. The manager was able to obtain the license plate number and law enforcement visited the registered address of the owner. The owner confirmed the vehicle was hers and identified the man leaving the store as Shamar Sneed. Sneed was later arrested after returning to Walmart and given a citation for shoplifting.

Woman steals lottery ticket from Jet 6

On Dec. 18, law enforcement was dispatched to Jet 6 at 2015 Irwinton Rd. in reference to a theft. The manager stated that while she was reviewing camera footage, she witnessed a female, identified as Ella Johnson, reach across the counter and take a $50 lottery ticket. Johnson did not take the entire ticket, and that was what caused the manager to check the footage. Camera footage confirmed the manager’s story. When law enforcement met with Johnson at her home, she claimed to have paid for the ticket. When told the store had video of her reaching across the counter, she stopped speaking with the officer. Johnson was placed under arrest for theft by taking.

Man attempts to flee police

On Dec. 18, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to 151 Park Avenue to serve two arrest warrants for Gregory Harrison. Upon arrival, an officer shined their flashlight into the window of a storage room and observed Harrison standing at the side door, which led outside. Harrison's hand was on the door handle. Harrison reportedly made direct eye contact with the officer, then began opening the door. Officers instructed him to not go but Harrison ran out of the storage room and into the back yard. Denying commands to stop, Harrison slipped and fell on the ground. Two probation violation warrants were served and one warrant for obstruction of a law enforcement officer was secured against Harrison.
