Bravettes dominate early playoff rounds in March to Macon

Baldwin girls' basketball began its playoff march last Wednesday with an 84-5 rout of Southeast Bulloch, followed by a 62-42 victory over Trinity Christian over the weekend, and a 66-39 win over Stockbridge on Tuesday.

Walker scores 1,000th point but bigger goal remains

Baldwin’s Janaye Walker scored her 1,00th-point Jan. 30 in a 69-19 victory over Westside-Macon. A week later, the program honored Walker after the Bravettes topped Swainsboro in the regular season finale. Walker eclipsed the 1,000-point mark with a layup against Westside last week.

Walker, Neal lead Bravettes past Lowndes at MLK Classic

Baldwin’s Janaye Walker and Kassidy Neal each posted a double-double as Class 4A’s top-ranked Bravettes routed Lowndes at the Holy Innocents’ MLK Classic. The talented junior duo helped Baldwin defeat Class 7A’s Lady Vikings 75-50, marking their 10th victory in a row.

Late run lifts Griffin over Bravettes to win state title

Griffin (27-4) used a late run in the fourth quarter to power it past Baldwin (23-9) in the Class AAAA girls state championship game on Wednesday night at the Macon Coliseum. The Lady Bears outscored the Bravettes 8-0 in the final 1:47 of regulation to secure the 51-47 win.
