>> JOHN MILLEDGE ACADEMY

The John Milledge Academy (JMA) Trojans dropped to 1-5 for the season after losing to the Brentwood Eagles in a lopsided 33-6 final from Sandersville.

The Trojans were challenged from the start, finding themselves down 6-0 after giving up a 60-yard rushing touchdown in the final minute of the first quarter.

JMA gave up another three touchdown drives to the Eagles in the second quarter, all within the final five minutes of the half, putting the Trojans in a 26-0 hole at halftime.

Midway through the third quarter Brentwood extended its lead to 33-0 on another 50-yards-plus rushing score.

The Trojans finally got on the board a couple of minutes into the final quarter when Cole Vining carried the ball 16 yards for a touchdown.

The win was the first for Brentwood since 2013 over JMA.

JMA travels to Stratford Academy (5-1) this Friday to begin region play. Stratford has played great football so far this season, with its only blemish coming last Friday in a 33-27 loss to Brookstone.

Stratford will be looking to earn its first win over the Trojans since the 2011 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Stratford Academy in Macon.
