Shirley Simons Avera, 83, of Washington County, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. Survivors include her husband Brown Avera, Jr. of San Antonio, Florida; sons, Brown Avera III of McDonough, Lt. Col. William Avera of Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; daughter, Jennifer Avra Smith of Dallas, Texas; son-in-law, Tony McMillian of Milledgeville; seven grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
