Somebody was arrested after biting an elderly lady and kicking a deputy.
Anita Royann Nelson was charged with two counts of misdemeanor obstruction of an officer, as well as one count each of battery and battery upon a law enforcement officer.
The deputy responded to 129 Lata Terrace and began interviewing someone in the yard. Nelson then “came out of the residence yelling,” and the deputy asked Nelson to “stop yelling at me.” After several more rounds of yelling, Nelson eventually went back inside.
The deputy then interviewed a 71-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman. The man relayed to the deputy that “Nelson had thrown an unknown object, hitting him in the face.” The elderly woman, meanwhile, had a cut on her finger, which happened after “Nelson had put her on the floor and bit her finger.”
While attempting to handcuff and detain Nelson, she began resisting and “rotating in a counter clockwise manner.” The deputy then took Nelson to the ground, and she began to kick. The kicking continued on the way to the patrol vehicle, and Nelson, 63, ultimately landed a kick to the deputy’s torso while lying in the back of the vehicle.
IN BALDWIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS:
• Three detainees at the Youth Development Center were booked at the county jail, including Cristoval Magna-Prado, 18, who was charged with aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, felony interference with government property, simple battery, unlawful conduct during 911 call and violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
• Break-ins, thefts and/or entering autos were reported in the 2260 block of Irwinton Road and the 190 block of Ivey Drive.
IN MILLEDGEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS:
• A man with four prior shoplifting convictions was arrested for shoplifting after reportedly putting a sausage dog in his pocket at The Market convenience store on North Columbia Street. Darrell Lorenzo Wright, 56 later was arrested without incident and charged with one count of felony shoplifting.
