The 13th annual First Friday Beach Bash is all set for Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Milledgeville.
More than 80 tons of sand will be trucked in, all in an effort to convert the post office side parking lot into a tropical beach destination.
“Grab your flip flops, throw on your favorite Hawaiian shirt, and join us for an evening full of live music, summer fun, shopping, dining, and tropical energy,” wrote Milledgeville MainStreet, which is putting on the event, along with this year’s sponsor – Hyundai of Milledgeville.
Also during First Friday, the Burger Week People’s Choice Award winner will be announced.
Kai Thai, winner of the previous two Burger Weeks, will be looking for the three-peat. This year’s entry from Kai Thai was the Thai Rama Burger, which was “an all-beef patty topped with lettuce, crunchy onions, seasoned mushrooms, bacon, melted mozzarella cheese, fire-grilled chicken (yakitori), and homemade Thai Chili mayo on a sesame seed bun.”
