Three teenagers approached a 68-year-old man who was using a walker and offered their assistance last week on Davis Court.
Instead of helping, however, one of the teens pushed the man to the ground, while the other two took money from the compartment of the walker, according to a Baldwin County Sheriff's Office incident report.
Jarius Deshawn Lawrence, 18, was arrested and charged with one count of robbery and one count of simple battery, while Sherod Haynes, 17, was charged with one count of robbery. The third suspect, a juvenile, was transported to an area Youth Detention Center.
Deputies responded, and the victim said that one of the suspects was Lawrence, because they are neighbors on Davis Court. The victim offered a description of all three suspects. Shortly after, a vehicle was stopped on nearby Frazier Drive, and three men matching the description were detained. Part of the cash originally stolen from the compartment of the walker was recovered. A deputy gave the victim a ride to the scene of the traffic stop, where he was able to positively identify all three teens.
Davis Court is located off Vinson Highway, near the old Southside Elementary School.
