Drunk man asks cops to take him to India

A 22-year-old-man drank too much on Saturday night and decided to go to India.

A 911 call came in early Sunday morning in reference to someone “stumbling in the road and currently sitting on the train tracks on West Franklin (Street).” Officers responded and spotted a man “stumbling in the roadway” and “highly intoxicated,” according to the incident report. The man was identified as Sahil Hooda.

Added one of the officers' narrative in the incident report: “I asked Sahil where he was walking to and I could take him there. Sahil would only state he was going to India, and could I take him to India or the airport.”

After refusing to give his address, Hooda was handcuffed, arrested, and charged with one count of public drunkenness.

In other drunken weekend Milledgeville news, someone was arrested near the intersection of Hancock and Wilkinson streets after yanking on a random door handle and hollering “get the (expletive) out of the car.” The man decided to be honest with cops and told them that “he was probably being loud.” Ethan Shapiro, listed with a Monticello address, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Also, two men were arrested after a fight nearly broke out outside of Ned Kelly's/Capital City. Joshua Hammett, listed with a Hahira address, and Rowe William McCarroll, listed with an Atlanta address, were each charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and possession of alcohol by a minor. Hammett and McCarroll were on the same team, while the men they were fighting “were able to run off before (officers) could detain them.”
