The GMC Golf Invitational Begins

On an early Sunday morning, the sun shined brightly on the golf course at The Club at Lake Sinclair, collegiate golfers from all over the region competed on one of the oldest courses in Lake Country.

March 1 marked the beginning of the Visit Milledgeville Invitational, a three-day collegiate golf tournament hosted by Georgia Military College.

The Club at Lake Sinclair features an 18-hole course that has been serving the city of Milledgeville since 1960. Since its creation, the course has hosted annual tournaments, some dating back more than 30 years.

The GMC Invitational serves as Georgia Military College’s home event displayed on its Spring 2026 schedule. The last event the GMC teams participated in was the Coastal Georgia Invitational last month at Jekyll Island Golf Club, where the Bulldogs put together a 14th-place finish and were recognized as the top NJCAA program in the field.

Eastern Florida State wound up winning the Visit Milledgeville Invitational with a combined final score of 597, GMC placed second by five strokes at 602, and a 611 total by Andrew College placed third.

Bradley Pate was GMC’s low scorer, tied for 4th overall with a two-day total of 148, Letcher Miller tied for 6th with a 150 finish, and Billy Goggans placed 9th for the Bulldogs with a 152 score.

Next, the GMC men’s golf team will travel to the 2026 Stich GolfIntercollegiate March 15-17 at Long Leaf Golf Course in South Carolina.
