New holiday light experience debuts Dec. 12 in Baldwin County

Woodland Acres at Robbins Farm is hosting its first Christmas Light Walk Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, bringing a new holiday event to Baldwin County.

Tommy and Maura Robbins established their farm in 2019 at 223 Cox Woodland Rd. NW in Milledgeville. After rehabilitating the home and land for their family and hobby of farming, the couple opened the farm to the public in May for small events, weddings, photo-shoots, community events and more.

“In October, we hosted a pumpkin patch that many of the local schools and public attended,” said Maura Robbins. “Following that event, everyone continued to ask what we would be doing for the winter holidays and so we started planning for the Christmas Light Walk.”

The Robbins aimed to create a “simple Christmas” and “homespun” event, reminding others of how the simpler things can bring joy in life and unite people together.

“The Christmas Light Walk is made up of home-made decorations, recycled displays, solar-powered lights, brand new lights, and lots of DIY (do it yourself) items,” said Robbins. “We have a passion for creating things, my husband bringing it to fruition and myself painting and decorating.

We also care about the environment and our community, so recycling and shopping locally was a necessity.”

The Christmas Light Walk provides a 10-to-12minute walk, without stopping at photo-op spots. It also includes a live nativity scene partnered with Crager Hills Farm, which is providing the animals, and live caroling sung by The Milledgeville Singers Club.

“Santa will also make an appearance,” said Robbins. “On Dec. 12, he will be available for visits and photos in the cabin and on Dec. 19 he will be at the Night Market inside our barn, an event space we have available for the community to use.”

The Night Market will feature local vendors selling holiday crafts and other items for gifts and souvenirs of the night. On Dec. 12 Angel Jones Photography will be present to take professional photos with Santa, if booked in advance at /angeljonesphotography. mypixieset. com.

“In addition to our Christmas Light Walk, we are also hosting Cookies with Santa on Dec. 19 and Dec. 20. On Dec. 19, the cookie dough will be pre-made while on Dec.

20, participants will make their own dough. Both days will include a story with Santa as well,” said Robbins. “

Tickets for the Christmas Light Walk are $5 per person and bought at the gate of the farm. Tickets include the walk, meeting Santa, and a home-made hot chocolate bar and cookies while supplied last.

For Cookies with Santa, spots are limited. Book tickets online at robbinsfarmevents. com. On Dec. 19, the class will take place from 10-11:30 a.m. and on Dec. 20 there are two classes from 10-11:30 a.m. and 12-1:30 p.m. respectively.
