The Baldwin Braves boys’ basketball team improved to 4-0 with their most recent win at home on Dec. 8 over the Howard Huskies from Macon.
The Braves won 77-53 over the visiting Huskies to add to their wins over Morrow, Central (Macon) and Southwest (Macon).
Tremarius Lawrence and Omari Woodward were the Braves’ top scorers against the Huskies, with 19 points apiece.
After the first quarter of play, Baldwin and Howard were tied at 11. The second quarter wasn’t much different with the Huskies leading 25-24 at halftime.
The second half would prove to be all Baldwin with the Braves scoring 30 points in the third quarter alone while allowing 13 for the Huskies.
The final quarter of play was just as good for the Braves as they went on to win 77-53 after a 23-point fourth quarter. Baldwin shot 45 percent on field goals and 62 percent from the free throw line but struggled on 3-pointers with only 29 percent of their shots dropping.
On defense, the Braves had 18 steals and 10 blocks.
Baldwin plays at home against Swainsboro on Tuesday and will travel to region rival Spalding on Friday. Next week, the Braves will travel to south Georgia to play Lee County on Dec. 19, followed by a game the next day against Westover of Albany.
