The USA National Team keeps the hot bats going in game two

The USA softball team picked up their third win of the World Games with a 10-2 victory over the Canadian national team. They went 2-0 in day one and have improved to 3-0.

There was only one player in the lineup with multiple hits in the contest as most of the order had a lone hit. Deja Mulipola, the former University of Arizona standout, who went 2-for-2 with a double. Mulipola was also one of two players who had three RBI in the victory over the Canadians. Current LSU standout, Taylor Pleasants, was the second player with a three-RBI game two of which came on a moonshot in the fourth inning. Hannah Flippen, the University of Utah Alumni, had roundtripper number two of the contest which also came in the fourth inning for two RBI. The state of Georgia star Charla Echols from the University of Florida had the most runs scored with two to tie with Flippen. Echols was able to reach base via the single and a walk.

The former James Madison University pitcher Jaylin Ford got the start in the circle for the red, white, and blue. Ford pitched three complete innings allowing two earned runs on two hits. The current UCLA All-American Megan Faraimo got the relief effort throwing the final inning of the game allowing no hits. Faraimo is coming off of an impressive season as she averaged 6.35 strikeouts per game.

With the three victories in two days, the USA national team will advance to the semifinal game against Australia. The winner of this game will advance to the gold medal game with the loser advancing to the bronze medal game. The Japanese National Team will take on the Chinese Taipei in the semifinal game on the second side of the bracket.
