County transit program terminated

County commissioners voted on Tuesday to discontinue its transit program, effective immediately.The vote was 3-2 and broke down along party and racial lines. Emily Davis and Kendrick Butts, the two Democrats and the two African-Americans on the board, comprised the two no votes.

A rock fight may be brewing in Baldwin County.More than one, actually. Paperwork recently was submitted to the Baldwin County Planning and Development Department for a pair of proposed rock quarries, one off of Ga. 212 and one near the Gordon Highway.

Man who wrecked hotel room arrested yet again

William Bernard Mercer was pulled over by a state trooper early Sunday morning and eventually arrested and charged with DUI and possession of drug-related objects.Back in late May, Mercer, 52, was arrested at the Comfort Suites after wrecking a hotel room.
