Motorcycle Stolen On Magnolia AvenueOn March 12, a resident on Magnolia Avenue reported their motorcycle stolen.The victim reportedly visited his rental property to check on it and found the gate lock was cut and his motorcycle was missing. A miter saw (valued at $350) was also reported stolen.

Fishing Creek Trail project receives funding for completion

The Oconee River Greenway Authority was awarded a $200,000 grant from the Department of Natural Resources to complete the Fishing Creek Trail. In addition, the county has allocated SPLOST funds that, with addition to the grant, will cover the estimated $760,000 project to complete the trail.

Rivian pulls plug on EV plant for now

Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Rivian announced on March 7 that it is delaying indefinitely its plan to build an EV plant east of Atlanta, near Madison. Instead, Rivian said it will initially begin building its new R2 midsize SUV at its present location in Illinois.
