Wanted woman spotted, also arrested on drug charges

While on patrol Feb. 2, Deputy Alex Rickey saw a vehicle in a parking lot on Andrews Street and recognized its driver, Heidi Ford, who had an active parole violation warrant.

Rickey parked behind the vehicle and confirmed Ford’s identity after talking to her. The deputy informed Ford of her active warrant and ordered her to exit the vehicle. Ford asked if her passenger could keep the vehicle, which the deputy said would be possible if the passenger had a valid license.

Rickey asked Ford for consent to search the vehicle, which was granted.

Ford was placed in handcuffs in the deputy’s patrol vehicle. Ford was asked about two black bags on the front passenger seat, and she said they did belong to her.

During the search, Rickey found a small bag containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine and a small bag with four white pills suspected to be hydrocodone. Also in the bag was a wallet with Ford’s identification.

Rickey informed Ford she was under arrest for her outstanding parole violation warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. She was turned over to jail staff for booking.
