Domestic violence investigations typically take on a he said/she said dynamic, but that wasn’t the case last week at a home on Coopers Road.
A pair of deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call, and a man told one of the deputies that his girlfriend had “lost it.” The man added that his girlfriend “pointed a firearm at him,” and he proceeded to pull out his cell phone and show the deputy a video corroborating his story, according to an incident report.
Ultimately arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault/ family violence was Morgan Anne Nelson, 34.
Added the incident report: “(The victim) provided video of Nelson pointing a pistol at him. I was able to observe Nelson pick the pistol up and point it at (the victim). While the pistol was pointed at (the victim), Nelson closed one eye as if she were aiming. (The victim) took the gun from Nelson, removed the magazine, and cleared the chamber.”
The deputy then interviewed Nelson and “detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and person.” She was arrested without incident.
In Milledgeville Police Department news: • Aaliayh Ce’Asia Barnes was arrested for shoplifting after reportedly stealing two bottles of Smart Water from the Circle K on North Jefferson Street and becoming “verbally abusive” to the cashier. A woman with pink hair held Barnes back.
• Two sisters on Pennington Road got into a skirmish, which was preceded by an argument about babysitting and one not feeling like babysitting. Neither sister wished to press charges.
