At this point, 911 dispatchers are so familiar with Victor Jerome Washington that he’s sort of like unwanted family.
For the third time in the last three months, Washington was arrested on the same charge – unlawful conduct during 911 call.
Washington, 64, is a resident of the Dogwood Retirement Apartments at the corner of West Hancock Street and South Columbia Street. This time around, Washington called 911 twice and hung up before speaking with a dispatcher. A Milledgeville Police Department officer later went to Washington’s apartment, and Washington “stated that he called 911 because he wanted someone to check on him.” Asked what was wrong, Washington said that “nothing was wrong.”
Washington was shy and didn’t want to talk to dispatchers prior to his most recent arrest, which wasn’t the case during the previous two. Prior to the first arrest, Washington called 911 12 different times and conversed with the dispatcher. During the second case, meanwhile, Washington gave the dispatcher a heads up that “something bad would happen in five days” and that “God wanted him to send a message.”
