The supplier of a Mexico-to-Milledgeville methamphetamine and heroin drug trafficking ring recently was sentenced to 260 months in prison during court proceedings at the federal courthouse in Macon.
Noe Canela, a 37-year-old Gwinnett County, man “is being held accountable for supplying at least 17,069 grams of methamphetamine directly to the Havior drug trafficking organization,” according to a Department of Justice press release.
The Havior drug trafficking organization was led by Jarvis “J Bo” Havior, 34, who previously was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison, where there is no parole.
The investigation into Havior began in 2020, and investigators ultimately “determined the location of distribution ‘trap’ houses and ‘stash’ houses for bulk narcotics and cash that Havior and his criminal associates maintained,” according to a press release.
Ten months later, agents moved in for the takedown. Added the press release: “Agents determined that Havior was going to replenish his methamphetamine supply at a location in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he had previously traveled to for suspected drug re-supply runs. Agents observed Havior meet a man at a Publix parking lot in Stone Mountain and receive a fully laden green Publix bag. Havior traveled to a restaurant in Covington, Georgia, and gave the bag to co-defendant Anrico Taylor.
“Both defendants departed the restaurant in their respective vehicles and traffic stops were conducted on them in Baldwin County, Georgia. Taylor attempted to flee with the Publix bag, ripping apart several smaller bags of methamphetamine as he ran from officers, amounting to approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine spread on the ground. In total, four kilograms of methamphetamine was found inside the green Publix bag. In all, the drug trafficking ring is responsible for distributing at least five kilograms of methamphetamine.”
All totaled, during the 18-month investigation, a number of controlled buys were executed, implicating suspects from around Baldwin County, who all eventually pleaded guilty.
Many of the sentences date back to 2023, and some of the defendants have already served their time and been released.
Regardless, those sentenced were:
• Anrico Taylor, aka “Rico,” 36, of Milledgeville, sentenced to serve 160 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on July 11, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on Feb. 28, 2023;
• Matthew Cameron, 53, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 150 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release on Oct. 31, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on Oct. 5, 2022;
• Dawn Carey, 53, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 121 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on April 6, 2023, after she pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine on Oct. 13, 2022;
• Bruce Harrison, 46, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 120 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release on Nov. 2, 2022, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on Aug. 31, 2022;
• Arturo Marshall, aka “Turo,” 47, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 100 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on July 13, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances on Feb. 28, 2023;
• Tyrone Hitchcock, aka “TY,” 54, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 85 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on Jan. 4, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on Oct. 12, 2022;
• Paul Collins, 66, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 57 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on June 18, 2024, after he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances on Feb. 28, 2023;
• Annie Collins, 27, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 63 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on July 13, 2023, after she pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on March 7, 2023;
• Paul Bentley aka “Old School,” 62, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 60 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on Aug. 6, 2025, after he pleaded guilty to one count conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine on Feb. 20, 2025;
• Alicia Nugent, 44, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 60 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on July 13, 2023, after she pleaded guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute on Feb. 28, 2023;
• Lamont Jackson, 54, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 48 months in prison to be followed by one year of supervised release on July 13, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to one count of the unlawful use of a communication facility on Feb. 28, 2023;
• Perry Miller, 46, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 48 months in prison to be followed by one year of supervised release on July 13, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to the unlawful use of a communications facility on Feb. 28, 2023;
• Dwight Turner, aka “Wight,” 63, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 48 months in prison to be followed by two years of supervised release on Jan. 11, 2024, after he pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine on Aug. 30, 2023;
• Ryan Rickard, 56, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 41 months in prison to be followed by one year of supervised release on Feb. 14, 2024, after he pleaded guilty to one count of the unlawful use of a communication facility on Feb. 16, 2023;
• Amber Vanclief, 38, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve 15 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release on May 3, 2023, after she pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on Feb. 9, 2023;
• Macarthur Reeves, aka “Mac,” 73, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to serve three years of probation on May
3, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to one count of the unlawful use of a communications facility on Feb.
16, 2023; and
• Paris Binion, 35, of Milledgeville, was sentenced to time served to be followed by one year of supervised release on Nov. 9, 2023, after she pleaded guilty to one count of the unlawful use of a communications facility on Feb. 28, 2023.
