Georgia Military College (GMC) hosted its annual Meet Your Bulldogs Community Pep Rally on Aug. 24.
The pep rally offered a chance for the community and GMC staff, families, students, and alumni to meet and interact with the 2023 GMC Junior College Bulldogs.
During the event, a blow-up jump house and slide were available for kids to play on, alongside other activities such as face painting and a photo booth. Several tents were also lined up where football players sat and signed autographs and a tent was available to buy GMC t-shirts and merchandise.
Alongside these events, several food trucks were parked by Davenport Field to offer attendees a variety of dinner and snack options. Many of the football players crowded together to rejoice over a shared meal and talk with their fans before their official introduction later on the field.
At 6:30 p.m., all attendees were escorted to Davenport Field, and the Junior College Bulldogs were lined up on the field as they each received a personal introduction. This part of the pep rally allows each attendee to get to know each player on a more personal level and be able to identify them when they are playing on the field.
According to a GMC press release, the Meet Your Bulldogs Community Pep Rally is “to celebrate sportsmanship but also an opportunity to foster a sense of community pride and unity.”
With a large turnout for the event and a long line waiting for signatures, the pep rally was a success at hyping the upcoming season and connecting players with their local community.
