Firefly Boutique heads to social media to promote new summer selections of clothes.
“Summer is all about color, fun flowy dresses and easy to wear pieces,” said Amber Patitucci, owner of Firefly Boutique. “So, we have a lot of new fun and vibrant colors and prints going on.”
Firefly Boutique emerges with new styles and trends all over social media when the summer rays first start hitting Milledgeville. Their Instagram and Facebook are run by employees of the boutique who have shown off various pieces of clothing through series such as “Songs as Outfits” or through videos such as a “Summer Layering Hack.”
“These series are just fun little Pinterest ideas that we bring to life,” said Patitucci. “Everyone's looking for something like a good summer hack. So, we make a little reel or video that helps people out in the morning when they're in a rush. It’s something that I want to bring to my customers for them to enjoy.”
Firefly is known for its social media prescience which has brought the boutique a flourish of customers. Their Instagram, in particular, shows an effective targeting and meticulous product selection in each post to appease the college aged demographic. Comments on their Instagram range from “Beautiful clothes!” to “Yes ma'am” as customers comment on the confidence of the models to the stylish color combination of the clothes themselves.
“Our social media follows the seasons of the store,” said Patitucci. “We feature what we are carrying in store so therefore it's always changing.”
New products include a new variety of earring selections, flat form universals, and an entire clothing selection in partnership with The Free People Movement (FP Movement) that partners with the boutique. The FP Movement offers customers activewear and other comfy and stylish selections while promoting the power of community. Firefly has an entire tab of their clothes that can be found on the website.
“Free People is one of those staple’s that we will likely always have and that our customers just love,” said Patitucci. “Other microbrands don’t necessarily stick as well because we go where the best pieces are and that changes over time.”
The success of Firefly Boutique comes from the extensive work of employees and the owner, Amber Patitucci. Firefly is her second boutique to open in Milledgeville and has been a part of the downtown community since 2017.
“I feel like Firefly takes more of a risk on the edgier pieces and on the super trendy pieces while Chatter sticks to more classic pieces that stand the test of time,” said Patitucci. “Through Chatter I wanted to cater more to the local community while Firefly caters more to the ever-changing world of college and youth.”
Firefly offers a variety of clothing, shoes and accessories selections from popular brands like Free People and from smaller boutiques that cater to “fast fashion.” These fashions replicate runway styles at a lower cost than the designer lines to be both trendy and affordable to the female college student.
“I would describe Firefly as trendy, for the young at heart and for shoe-lovers,” said Patitucci. “Firefly caters to those young at heart from college students to my age. Plus, we have a large variety of shoe selections.”
Patitucci put an emphasis on customer feedback to be able to understand trends and the interests of her new demographic. This helped to create two boutiques catered to different age groups and ensured Firefly Boutique fit the atmosphere of downtown.
“I carry brands and trends based on what I see customers want,” said Patitucci. “We are continuously working to stay current and provide to our customers.”
