The Animal Rescue Foundation and Friends of Baldwin County Animals (FBCA) are offering low-cost spay and neuter services.
“This is a partnership years in the making,” said Ashton Branch, founder of FBCA. “We began with a rescue partnership and over the years began offering spay-and-neuter clinics multiple times a year.”
ARF and FBCA partner with veterinarians in Milledgeville, Macon, and surrounding areas to offer the service. The total cost of surgery is $125 for dogs of any size and $100 for cats with a deposit of $40 per pet in order to reserve an appointment. This deposit will not be returned but rather put toward the full cost of surgery.
For those paying full price, if the animal does not have a current rabies vaccine, one will be provided with an additional cost of $15. Rabies vaccines are included for those that qualify for one of the discounted rates.
“While this is a general total cost, we work with every client on a case-by-case basis. Pricing may also adjust depending on different factors,” said Branch.
Other options include a co-pay of $25 for those on government assistance programs, with the rest of the services paid by ARF and FBCA.
To apply for the $25 copay or full sponsorship options citizens must provide proof of government assistance. Anyone can apply for the program.
“The online form can be filled out at any time. We fulfill the applications as the space is available,” said Branch.
