The men’s and women’s basketball teams for the Georgia College Bobcats independently hosted two Education Days at the Centennial Center earlier this month. Over the span of two days, approximately 5,000 students from surrounding counties visited Milledgeville to watch the Bobcats in action.
The Lady Bobcats beat LaGrange 70-45 on Dec. 15, while the men’s team overcame a 15-point halftime deficit Dec. 17, for an 84-80 win over South Carolina Beaufort. Students and teachers visiting from both Putnam and Baldwin County schools brought plenty of energy to the Centennial Center to make it an exciting day for everyone to go along with a very entertaining game.
During a brief intermission in the first half, teachers from the visiting schools were recognized. Then, at halftime, the girls’ youth cheerleading teams from Washington County, Baldwin, and Putnam County entertained fellow students, teachers, and fans. Additionally, the Baldwin Middle School band sat behind one of the backboards playing songs during play stoppages.
