It was a bright, sunny day filled with amazing food and fun for the entire family. This past Saturday, the front campus of Georgia College & State University hosted the ArtHealthy Festival.
For the past 12 years, CREATE Inc. has partnered with GCSU as they draw in amazing crowds in the name of wellness. They offer something for every age as they have kid zone full of inflatables, aerobics classes, and healthy food vendors fill the streets.
CREATE Inc.’s vison stands with the ideology to provide innovative responses to quality-of-life barriers.
The first event took place at 12:30 p.m. with a free Tai Chi course. The next step of the event would take place 30 minutes later with Cardio Crave with Camissa.
GCSU and CREATE Inc. set out to battle the epidemic of obesity with the help of the arts and education.
The remainder of the events that took place during the festival would include a line dancing course taught by LaTonya Freeman, a self-defense demo by Krav Maga, and a dance cypher.
These events showed unique ways to highlight fun ways to lose weight and get some exercise.
ArtHealthy also held a giveaway for the patrons who attended the event with the grand prize being Rockhopper specialized mountain bike valued around $850. To be eligible, attendees were required to donate $5.
