Wayne St., Milledgeville More info: GCSU alumna Grace Wood presents a photography exhibit capturing the complexity and raw authenticity of the people, places, and stories of the South. Inspired by Southern Gothic artists like Sally Mann, Flannery O’Connor, and Johnny Cash, Wood combines film and digital images to communicate through her lens a deep and meaningful connection with the region.

What: 11th annual Seuss on the Loose When: 9:30 a.m. to Noon Where: Putnam County Primary School, 162 Old Glenwood Springs Rd., Eatonton

More Info: Registration begins 9 a.m., with Seuss on the Loose Fun Run starting at 9:30 a.m. Seuss-related activities for children of all ages in school cafeteria 10 a.m. to noon. There will also be a silent auction, and winners of the art contest held at the primary and elementary schools will be recognized. Tickets for each activity are 50 cents; wristbands that allow access to all of activities can be purchased for $10 per child. Tickets also can be purchased for the silent auction. Sponsored by Putnam Reads, this event helps raise funds to provide new, age-appropriate books each month to Putnam County children from birth to age 5. Sign up for the Fun Run by Feb. 14 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Registration forms are given to all children at the four Putnam daycares, PCPS and PCES, and are available at the Putnam County Library and Health Department.

What: Forgotten Music of Georgia and Beyond When: 2 p.m. Where: The Plaza Arts Center, 305 N. Madison Ave., Eatonton More Info: As part of the Old School Museum’s Sunday at the Museum Lecture Series, Eatonton resident and world music collector Richard Garrett will discuss and play five fascinating 78 rpm records from his personal collection, illuminating the music, performers, and their times. Three of the tracks were recorded in Georgia, featuring African American gospel, old-time mountain string-band music, and Eatonton’s own pioneering bluesman, Peg Leg Howell. The other two tracks head further south, to Mexico and Trinidad. Free admission, but donations greatly appreciated. Enjoy light refreshments after the lecture.
