William R. “Bobby” Blizzard, age 85, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2018. Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. David Smith and Rev. Tim Oliver officiating. Burial occurred at Friendship W. Baptist Church.

Mr. Blizzard was born in Coweta County but had made his home in Milledgeville. He was a graduate of GMC High School and Jr. College and was a retired farmer. He was a former member of the Overview Board of Directors, Oconee River Resource Conservation & Development Council, Baldwin County Progressive Farmer’s Club, a member of the Baldwin-Jones-Putnam Cattlemen’s Association and Sinclair Water Authority. Mr. Blizzard served on the Baldwin County Board of Commissioners from 1993-2008, and as Chairman in 1997, 2000, 2001, & 2008. He served as Chairman of the Baldwin County Board of Health from 2006-2013, and also served as Chairman of the Oconee Community Service Board from 1994-2007. He was a former member of Middle Georgia Regional Development Center serving as Chairman in 2001. He was a current member of the Baldwin County Georgia Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Marie Ussery Blizzard, parents Vannie Lou Roberts and William Bryant Blizzard, two sisters Mary Ellen McCue and Vivian Blizzard Holton. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Friendship W. Baptist Church.

Survivors include his children, David Blizzard (Shirley) of Milledgeville, Mike Blizzard (Gena) of McIntyre, Tracey B. Snow (Chris) and Kay B. McGiboney (Gregg) both of Milledgeville; eleven grandchildren: Beth Blizzard, Hayley Blizzard, Tyler Snow (Jana), Clay Snow, LeeAnn Pickel, Jamie DeLaney (Patrick), Rhett Blizzard, Ryan Blizzard, Lynsey Mosley (Ray), Kendall Rowland and Derren McGiboney (Kelly); Five great grandchildren: Davin Pickel, Hendlee Pickel, Millie Snow, Harrison Snow and Riggins Mosley.

Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
