Six COVID-19 deaths have now been confirmed at Chaplinwood Nursing Home since the onset of the pandemic, according to the Department of Community Health’s database.
For several months, the number at Chaplinwood stood at three, but in recent weeks it jumped to six.
Chaplinwood is located on Allen Memorial Drive. According to the DCH database, 69 clients currently reside at Chaplinwood. At some point since the pandemic began, a total of 42 clients have tested positive, which goes along with 14 employees, according to DCH.
Meanwhile, at Green Acres and Savannah Court, which are Baldwin County’s two other traditional nursing homes, the death total on the DCH’s website remained at zero.
Public school dashboard update
Six new student COVID-19 cases and one new employee case were recorded by the Baldwin County School District between Nov. 9 and Nov. 13, according to the school system’s online dashboard.
The six new student cases is the highest total for one week so far.
Since the school system began counting on Aug. 24, a total of 19 students and 26 employees have been reported as COVID-19 positive cases.
