The boutique is located at 134 S. Wayne St., right across from Ryals Bakery.

When Hiedi Martin opened Miles of Styles, she wanted to provide her customers with an experience unlike any other.

“I offer different to this area,” said Martin, owner of the boutique located downtown. “If you are somebody who doesn’t want to go to an event, or church, or anything and see someone with the same thing, come check us out.”

Martin opened the store after realizing that Milledgeville offered minimal shopping options.

“You would have to go to the other side of Macon or Atlanta to get items like what we are selling,” Martin said.

The boutique offers vintage and gently used clothing and accessories at reasonable prices. The clothing ranges from size XS to 3X. The store has also become known for its resale of high-end designer purses.

Martin prides herself on her out-of-the-box marketing style and strong social media presence.

“We have a sale every week. When we first started, for the first three and a half years, I didn’t have the same sell more than once,” Martin said. “We have done easter egg hunts. We do raffles. We try to make saving money fun.”

One of the store’s most popular sales was their fill a bag event.

“For the first Second Saturday event, we allowed customers to fill bags with as much as they could, and we only charged $20,” Martin said. “I did it for two weeks, and people thought it was the greatest thing ever.”

The store’s unique shopping experience is one reason why the store found success even amid a pandemic. The store offered customers a personalized one-on-one shopping experience once it was safe to do so. For customers who were not able to make appointments to come in store, they offered online shopping and shipping options.

“We made it through the pandemic, because of our social media and loyal customers,” Martin said.

Although she has found success in her business, Martin enjoys giving back to the community. After losing her two fur babies, she found comfort in donating to organizations like the Animal Rescue Foundation.

“We did a giving tree for ARF,” she said. “I was able to fill up my car completely with donations.”

On June 12, Miles of Styles is having a $1-day sidewalk sale to celebrate Second Saturday. The sale is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
