Line wrapped around building for grand opening
Word got out quick about McAlister’s grand opening on Friday, March 6.
The first 50 customers to order at the Roberson Mill location received a reward of “one free tea per week for a year.”
Before opening, the line had already extended around the building for the event. The Milledgeville McAlister’s is the third in Middle Georgia, joining the two in Macon.
McAlister’s was founded 30 years ago in Oxford, Miss. The restaurant has since been bought out by Roark Capital Group, a large private equity firm with several other restaurant chains underneath its umbrella - Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Scholtzky’s.
A number of other grand openings will be occurring soon in the area. The mall is about to have Jalisco’s Mexican restaurant as a tenant, next door to McAlister’s will be fresh-Mex South Georgia chain Surcheros, and Popeye’s will be coming to the Roberson Mill/North Columbia intersection.
